How To Make Kombucha

Kombucha is a probiotic, fermented, lightly effervescent tea produced using SCOBY or symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast.

It is easy to make at home and requires only a few ingredients. The main component of kombucha is the scoby, which can be raised from your favorite unpasteurized kombucha.

1 GALLON BATCH OF KOMBUCHA

What you’ll need:
8 bags of black tea
1 cup sugar
1 gallon wide mouth jar
1 Scoby
Your choice of fruit and additives.
(Raspberries, Blueberries, Peaches, Hibiscus, Lavender, etc.)

Procedure:
Boil 1 gallon of water. Steep tea and remove bags. Add 1 cup of sugar and mix. Chill mixture to 75 degrees. Add the scoby and let sit for 1.5 weeks to ferment. When you bottle, you can add your favorite fruits.
